Three Months Old.....Growing Boys!!

Happy Thanksgiving 2011

Where has the time gone?? Keaton and Kendall are three months old today! We can't believe how much they have changed and how well they are doing. They are just perfect. Both boys are starting to smile some when you talk to them and stay awake for longer periods of time. Keaton and Kendall are tracking people and love to look at the lights on the Christmas tree. They are getting big and getting big way too fast. Keaton now weighs 11 lbs 8 oz and Kendall weighs 11 lbs 4 oz. They have tripled their weight since they were born.
Keaton and Kendall have been out and about. We have been to several ballgames, a Christmas program, church, Briley's 7th birthday party, and even watched the Christmas parade from Grandma Phyllis' store. We got the newborn hospital pictures back last week. They are so cute. I will post one on here for you to see. Kerri Zeien did a fabulous job. We are so very proud of Keaton and Kendall. They are good babies and we are starting to get a little more sleep at night. This is a good thing because I will start back to work in January. It makes me very sad to leave them, but I know they are in the perfect care. Andrew's mom and my mom and his sister Dixie are all taking turns and coming to the house to watch the boys. How lucky are we??

Below are some pictures of the boys throughout this past month.....can you tell a difference?

Happy 2 Months Keaton and Kendall

I can't believe our two precious baby boys are two months old today. We are so very proud of them. Today also marks 40 weeks gestation for the boys. They have put up a strong fight and have won! We have noticed that they are starting to stay awake for longer periods of time and are eating much more. They are very happy boys! This week the boys will be getting shots.....ouch! This makes me nervous as a mom because I don't know how they are going to react to them. I sure hope they do ok.

Keaton and Kendall: We want you to know that you are loved by so many. We are so blessed to have you two. You two are strong little boys and daddy and I think you will grow up to do some pretty amazing things. We are so proud of you guys......you bring so much joy to our lives every single day. We will love you for always and like you forever, as long as you are living our precious babies you will be. Love you boys!

Welcome Home Keaton and Kendall

We made it.........HOME!!!! We all got to come home on October 27, 2011 and could't be any more excited about it. They are doing great!!! We are adjusting to being home and not in the NICU. We don't have around the clock nurses at home.......so we are a little tired but wouldn't change it for the world.

It was a little emotional leaving the NICU at St. Mary's. This was all we had known for the past 15/16 weeks. Hopefully the only time we go back to St. Mary's it will be just to visit and show everyone how big the boys have got. We would like to send out a huge thanks to all who prayed for us.....the power of prayer works and we are living proof of it. Keaton and Kendall are two healthy boys with two very proud parents. Keaton and Kendall have met several people since being at home. They have adjusted well and sleep most of the time and just get up when time to eat.

We had our first doctor appointment with Dr. Jones. He is so good with them. Keaton tipped the scale at 7 lbs 1oz and Kendall weighed in at 6 lbs 12oz. They are eating really well and getting bigger and bigger each day. Dr. Jones said they are perfect!

A huge thanks to all who attended and had part in the amazing Eric Carle shower for the boys at Geff Christian Church. What amazing friends, family, and church family we have. We are so blessed!

We have been to a couple different places since we have been home.......my parents, our first Dr. visit, and to church. Here are several different pictures of us coming home and being at home.

Homeward Bound!

I am sooo proud of our little boys! We are going to be coming home this weekend!!!!  The boys just need to pass their carseat challenge.  They will get circumsized on Thursday morning which makes Daddy nervous :) They eye docotor looked at the boys and said everything looked great with their vision so that is a blessing, because preemies born around their gestation can have eye problems. The boys will also be getting their newborn hospital pictures done. Words can not express how excited, nervous, and ready we are for this. We have been waiting on this to happen for quite sometime now. I spent nine weeks in the hospital and they are six weeks as of today......so we have been at St. Mary's for a total of fifteen weeks. We are ready to get into a routine at home, but will miss the nurses and doctors. We were so blessed to have such wonderful care.......we couldn't have been at any better place. A huge thank you to everyone at St. Mary's that helped us out in any way and to anyone that was a party of the Diesel Twins journey.

I am sure there are many people that will want to come and see the boys. We ask that nobody comes over that is sick or even feels sick. Keaton and Kendall are preemie babies so they can get sick a little easier than a regular newborn baby. I have hand sanitizers and soaps for hands. Please don't have any smoke on your clothing because it isn't good for them to breathe in and RSV is another serious thing we don't want our boys to get. We apologize for our rules, but the last thing we want is to be right back in the hospital.......we have been there long enough :)

I will never be able to repay Holly and Ryan for letting me live with them for the past five weeks. I couldn't ask for any better friends. I am very blessed to have them. They have done so much just by letting me stay with them. Here is a recent picture of Holly, Payton, and I. It is amazing how life works, because we never dreamed we would basically be living together. Holly has been wonderful.....she has been there for me when a day has been stressful, given me a hug when needed, listened to me talk, visited me when I was in the hospital and has visited with the boys as well, and has provided me a place to stay. She is the true meaning of a friend. Holly, I love you and I am so thankful we have stayed friends since Pre- K.

Here are some pictures of the boys room all decorated. These pictures were taken before the boxes were moved out of the room and the beds cleared out. My aunt has the quilts she is bringing with her this weekend when she comes to visit and the curtains. Monty and Andrew are going to change the light fixture that is bought just still sitting in the box and we have some more blinds to hang. I don't have the changing pad done yet and the stuff on the dresser sat up because she won't be here until the weekend. The quilts are Eric Carle and the changing pad cover. She made red curtain toppers for the windows. It will all be complete asap. It is def. ready for the boys though. The crown molding is yet to be done, but I don't think the boys will mind that it isn't up just yet.

In Memory of Pappy.......we miss and love you so much!
So thankful he got to meet Keaton and Kenall.

Well I have been very busy with the two cutest boys a mamma could ask for. It has been a while since I have made a post and the boys sure have changed since the last time. They are growing so fast and getting so big that it makes me want to cry just thinking about it. Keaton and Kendall will be six weeks told tomorrow.  I like it that they are getting big and stronger, but I know we will never get this time back. Keaton and Kendall will be six weeks old on Tuesday and has flown by.

The past couple of weeks have been an emotional rollar coaster for me. My Pappy (grandpa) on my dad's side past away, I had a kidney stone, the boys turned a month old on the 13th, and I am trying to finish up things at home to make it perfect for the boys. My Pappy will be greatly missed. He was an amazing man that could make anyone smile. We are so blessed that he was able to meet Keaton and Kendall. We have some pictures of him with them and I can't wait to tell them all about him and how wonderful he was. I know he will be looking over these boys. He was so excited about Keaton and Kendall.  So it has been very busy with lots of emotions. It seemed like everything was happening all at once, but I kept telling myself that God would only give me what I could handle.

Keaton is doing really well. He is now six pounds seven point two ounces and going strong. He is taking sixty ounces on his feedings now and has not feeding tube. Keaton and Kendall both have their stat moinitors off that keeps track of their oxygen levels. Keaton is so close to coming home. The only thing stopping him from coming home is having had a heart rate drop. He has to go forty eight hours without one. I know he can do it and will hopefully be home by the end of this weekend. We are so ready to be home with our precious baby boys.

Kendall is doing really well and not too far behind his brother. He is weighing six pounds one ounce and trying his best to catch his brother. He is taking sixty in his bottle as well and has no feeding tube. He has had a couple drops in his heart rate and that is putting a hold on him coming home, but hopefully he won't be too far behind Keaton. The drops that they have are just part of them being premature, but they are just about to outgrow having them.

The doctors and nurses have told us all along that they might not get to come home at the same time. Andrew and I are prepared for this, but we would really like it if they were able to come home at the same time. We are so very proud of our boys. They have grown so much and are doing really well. They have been strong little guys through it all.

The boys have really caught up with me on the milk supply. They are taking breast milk and they also get some formula every now and then. It makes me sad that I haven't been able to keep up, but atleast they are getting what they need out of it and can handle taking the formula as well. Before we know it they will be taking baby food and crawling......I feel that in a blink of an eye they are going to be all grown up into handsome little boys. I just can't believe how fast they are growing.

It is kinda sad to think that our journey at St. Mary's is almost over with. Looking back it doesn't seem that we have been over here for fifteen weeks. I am sure it does to Andrew though. He has been driving back and forth this whole time and has been such a wonderful and supportive husband. I don't even think about the time that I was on bed rest with the boys. Andrew and I have got to know so many people since we have been at St. Mary's. They staff of nurses and doctors have been nothing but wonderful to us. We have had the most amazing care that anyone could ask for.

Andrew and I are looking forward to hopefully being home by the end of this week with our two precious baby boys and not leaving the house for a long time. We are so ready to relax at home and spoil our little boys rotten. We can't wait for everyone to meet our little miracles. I hope to keep the blog updated with new pictures and just updates on how they are doing. I will try my best, but I am not going to promise anything......hope you enjoy the new pictures of the boys!
