Time For Things to Slow Down

We had an appointment Thursday afternoon and we got to see our precious little boys. They are doing great. Of course one likes to cooperate and one wants to play hide and seek. I guess they are just having fun in there. They were very active and kicked me the whole time. We didn't get weights like we thought we would. They said the weights were good last time and if they wouldn't have been so good last time they would have checked them again. So it es a good thing we didn't get weights even though mommy and daddy were wanting to know!

As I said the babies are good the story is a little different for my cervix. Even thug I have been laying here doing nothing, my cervix thinned even more. Not what we were wanting to hear. My FMM doctor is on vacation so we didn't get to talk to her. I guess doctors need vacations too....lol! The doctor filling in came in and talked to me once we got back to my room for the next three months and gave us some information on what the plan is for now until my dr gets back. They started me on a different contraction medicine to stop contractions and everything. This medicine is called Procardia. I take it every six hours. It is doing a great job at stopping my contractions though so that is great. The one down fall about this medicine is that it causes some pretty bad headaches. I was a little miserable last night, but hopefully my body will get adjusted to it. I am sure these headaches wont be the last with these boys :) I will take the headache any day for these boys to stay inside a little longer.

The doctor came back in today and I will also be starting in on a gel hormone that will be placed on my cervix. This has been shown to stop cervical shortening and keep women pregnant for several more weeks. The doctor said they haven't had much studies for this on twin pregnancies but for singleton pregnancies. She said it won't hurt anything to go ahead and it try because if it works, it will allow Keaton and Kendall more time inside mommy. Right now the plan is to hold off for as long as possible. She said our new goal is to make it to 28 weeks. It will be much easier for the boys if we can hold off until then or even longer. Hopefully we will know a little more once my doctor gets back. Please keep praying for these boys to hold off a little longer. Above are some pictures of visitors and new ultrasound pictures. Enjoy!
