Eight Weeks @ St. Mary's Room 3532
We have officially made it to staying in room 3532 for eight weeks now. It really hasn't seemed that long until I start to think about it and all the things that I could have been doing at home or at school with my kiddos. I feel that I have missed out on some things at home, but def know it has been best for us to be here. It has been a little while since I wrote a blog.....I guess you could say I have been lazy.....oh wait, that is what I do all the time :) I have been feeling more and more tired during the day time. I tend to take several naps throughout the day. I haven't been sleeping as well as what I had. I get up to use the bathroom every forty-five minutes and I get woken up every four hours for pills. I guess this is just preparing me for when we do get to come home with our precious baby boys. Mamma and daddy can't wait!
We had an ultrasound done on Thursday and everything is looking great. Keaton and Kendall are vey healthy, growing big, and practicing using their lungs for when they do arrive. As of today we are 30 weeks and 5 days. We have made some huge progress and each day is just another blessing. They are kicking me really hard now and letting me know when they are awake. They are just going to be perfect and we are very very anxious and counting down the days. We found out that the boys have head fulls of hair and their feet are measuring 2 1/2 inches long. They may not fit into their premmie clothes.....which is not a bad thing at all. The NICU doctor came and talked to us and said that if we can make it to like 35 or 36 weeks, the boys may just get to go straight into the regular nursery and come home with us once released. This would be amazing. If we make it to 36 weeks, that means we have made it to our regular scheduled date for our c-section. There has just been wondeful news for us all around and it doesn't even end here.
Last week my doctor had started talking to me about going to the Ronald McDonald House and staying there until time for the babies to arrive. Well some things fell through with that because I am a high risk pregnancy and they only take in certain situations. We were very understanding about this, but I was also upset because I thought I would be getting a change of scenery. My doctor came in today and said that we can still have that chance to be released and have a change of scenery, but we have to stay in Evansville, because home is still too far away. She said things have been looking really good, I haven't had a shot (knock on wood) in almost a week and I have had just very few contractions. So come early next week......mamma is getting out of here! I wish there was a button to show how excited I am about this. :) Now we are just trying to decide where we are going to stay and waiting to see if I can drive myself to my appointments or if someone has to drive me. I will talk to the doctor about this on Monday. We have a couple of options in mind. We talked about staying in a hotel which isn't much different than here, but still a change for a little while or my very best childhood friend has soooo graciously offered for me to come there. It is still all in the works and I will keep you updated as soon as we find out. Please keep praying that nothing happens over the weekend to take away from us getting a little bit of a break from this place.
I have had the best care here possible. All of my nurses are just amazing and I am pretty sure I have gone through all of them. I am now one of the longest staying patients up here in the labor and delivery unit. I have not only had the best nurses, I have had three great cleaning ladies who are more than welcome to come to my house and clean like they do here...lol! Room service has been wonderful and now have my breakfast order memorized.....I guess you could say that I have been having a huge craving for pancakes with peanut butter and syrup, sausage patty, and cranberry juice. Pancakes used to make my stomach hurt, but now they don't and I eat them all the time.
Fall is my favorite time of the year and it seems that is here. This makes me very excited! I love to decorate the house for fall and am a little sad I am missing out on all the decorations. Mom came over this week and surprised me with some fall decorations to put in the room. I also recieved two beautiful fall bouquets of flowers that add a wonderful touch. I was telling Andrew that birthdays will be so much fun to plan for the boys. What a perfect season to be born in! :) Once again, thank you all so very much for all the prayers, love, and support. Our journey to meet our boys is getting closer and closer. Daddy has still been amazing and just as ready as mommy to meet them. I will keep you all posted!
Finally I was able to add some pictures..... these are from several weeks ago and I have many many more to add. I stole these from Danielle's facebook page. I used a regualr laptop tonight to write this so that is why I could download. I will have Andrew bring my camera cord and get all the other pictures downloaded and get them up asap. I have grown a little more since these pictures.....keep checking back for more up to date pictures :)
